Laptop show no charging

HP Elitebook 840 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi,

my laptop dosn't charge the battery. it was on 50% when i pluged in but they show no charging,after that i use the laptop and batterty decress the power. i'm pluged again same proble. i try to update the battery drivers but problem is still remaining,now i use the laptop directly on Ac adapter its mean adapter is ok, i also check the new battery and adapter but computer show "no charging", plz hleps me.and is it board issue or software issue?

What you describe could be the battery not charging or not holding a charge and/or the charger not working.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

If those confirm the battery is not charging or not holding a charge, you would need to replace it.

If those confirm the charger is not working, you would need to replace that.

If both the battery and charger check out OK, then it's an internal problem with the circuitry in the laptop, and if the laptop is still under the HP warranty, you need to contact HP Customer Support to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about troubleshooting and repairing your machine remotely.


I did this recently and the HP Tech was able to remotely access my PC from the Internet to check out the problems.
