Error message: Low-power power source detected - video frame rate will be reduced.

The power adapter is the stock charger that came with the laptop. It has been working fine with no issue since May 2022, started exhibiting this behavior in Dec 2022. I ran the system tests twice and all passed.

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

What model laptop do you have, and what is the wattage (or part number) of your charger?

@brjAus,

Your HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk10000 Laptop PC (8VD49AV), according to: https://support.hp.com/ie-en/document/c06902418, is powered with this charger: HP p/n: L32661-001 ("150W ADPTR PFC SMART 4.5mm").

What I would like you to do first is to check your battery status: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2268927-1713329-16, specifically: "Test the battery using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows (preferred method)".

Not to run ahead of ourselves, but if we determine that your 150-watt charger has gone south, consider replacing it with a higher capacity 200-watt charger.  Such a charger will run cooler and has more 'umph' to power your laptop.  Here is one quality purchase example: Amazon.com: New 200W AC Charger Fit for HP OMEN Pavilion Gaming 15 16 17 G5 G6 G7 G8 OMEN 15 16 15t ....

This 200-watt charger has the same 4.5mm charger tip your stock charger has:
