I was struggling to make a WiFi connection so tried several suggested online solutions.  One was to do a 'refresh' and the article said I wouldn't lose any data.  Unfortunately after the refresh I have lost Microsoft Office.  If I try to open a Word document I get redirected to a Microsoft page to purchase a new copy.  If I select the Activate option it asks me for a code which I don't have.

@KarenH5

You read the wrong article -- because in fact, the only apps saved during a refresh are ones installed from the Microsoft Store. All others get erased.

And, there is probably no way NOW, of getting  MS Office back as the standard recovery media does not include  add-ons like that.

You would have to contact HP Customer Support yourself to see if they can do anything for you because we here can't.
