Hi @kishore83,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To clean up your HP Pavilion Gaming - 15 laptop and free up memory, you can follow these steps.

Delete Temporary Files:

  • Use the built-in Disk Cleanup tool in Windows to remove temporary files, cache, and other unnecessary files. You can access it by searching for "Disk Cleanup" in the Start menu.

Uninstall Unused Programs:

  • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (or "Add or Remove Programs" depending on your Windows version) to uninstall programs you no longer use.

Remove Unnecessary Files and Folders:

  • Manually go through your documents, downloads, and desktop folders to delete files you no longer need.

Check for Large Files:

  • Use a tool like WinDirStat or TreeSize to identify large files or folders taking up significant space on your hard drive. You can then decide whether to delete or move them to an external storage device.

Disable Startup Programs:

  • Disable unnecessary programs from starting up automatically with Windows. You can do this through the Task Manager > Startup tab.

Update and Optimize Drivers:

  • Ensure your drivers are up to date and remove any outdated or unnecessary drivers.

Use a Reliable Cleaning App:

  • While there are many cleaning apps available, it's essential to choose a reliable one to avoid accidentally deleting critical files. CCleaner and BleachBit are popular choices but always exercise caution when using third-party apps.

Run Antivirus and Malware Scans:

  • Sometimes, malware or viruses can take up system resources. Perform a full system scan using your installed antivirus software.

Consider Upgrading Storage:

  • If your laptop has a traditional hard drive (HDD), consider upgrading to a solid-state drive (SSD) for better performance and storage capacity.

Remember always to back up important files before making any significant changes to your system. If you're unsure about a particular file or program, it's best to research it before deleting it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
