NO, my capslock is NOT on. It does not blink. I can move the arrow cursor - nothing else shows up. The whole screen is black otherwise

Hi Stefan,
I finally got it sorted by pressing the F2 key about 3 times. The result was that the computer logged down and turned off. I then folded the lid down and put it away for about an hour. Then got it out, opened it up and turned it on again. Voila!!! It is working again. 
It did go through a little thing in the dos about checking the configuration settings, but now is working perfectly well again. 
This is the weirdest thing I Have seen so far.
