Step 1: Confirm Compatibility

Ensure your PC supports Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP). Most HP Spectre, Envy, and Pavilion x360 models do.

Step 2: Pair the Pen (If Bluetooth-Enabled)

Some HP pens (like the HP Rechargeable MPP2.0 Tilt Pen) require Bluetooth pairing:

Press and hold the top button on the pen for 3–5 seconds until the LED blinks.
On your PC, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth.
Select your pen from the list and complete pairing.

If your pen doesn’t appear, try restarting Bluetooth on your PC and retry.

Step 3: Update Drivers and Firmware

Open Device Manager and expand Human Interface Devices.
Right-click HID-compliant pen and choose Update driver.

Step 4: Reset the Pen

If pairing fails or the pen is unresponsive:

Press and hold both the top button and eraser button (if available) for 10 seconds to reset.
Try pairing again after the reset.

Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Pen & Windows Ink.
Enable Show visual effects and Write in the handwriting panel.
Try writing in Whiteboard or Sketchpad to test input.
