Hello i have a problem with my Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series having No Battery Detected along with a prompt or BIOS event saying AC adapter type unknown. I can turn my laptop on only using the adapter and No battery. The battery indicator light either flashes rapidly a White light then 3 amber lights on repeat OR alternating between one white flash and one amber flash back to back. Ive noticed when its flashing white followed by 3 amber flashes the battery is Not detected.

When it flashes one white, one amber the battery Is Detected but Not charging. It will stay on 0%

Ive done everything i know to do to no avail.

Bought a new Dell battery, Updated the BIOS, drivers, windows OS, and everything in between. Troubleshooting tells me everything is working properly which is not the case. I am at a loss with this one Any help or a pish in the right direction something im not seeing or think of to check would be greatly appreciated.

though the OP (UnknownError226) is using a Dell Inspiron laptop and not an HP brand laptop and should bring the battery issue up in the Dell forums Inspiron laptop section instead:
