Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hello, I am having this issue where my laptop unexpectedly shut down. I tried turning it back on, but my pc was out of battery. So I plug-in the charger and it starts charging, On the right-down side of the taskbar it says "No battery is detected.". Now the laptop never charges to the fullest as I cannot see how much it charges.

Also now the laptop is never charged. PC only works when it is plugged in, otherwise it shuts down.

Please advice.

Thanks,

Vrinder

@Vrinder

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that your getting an error Plugged in not charging, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • Does the notebook shut down immediately (right after you unplug the charger)?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

  • 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
  • 2. Expand batteries.
  • 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
  • 4. Shut down the computer.
  • 5. Disconnect the charger.
  • 6. Remove the battery. (only for removable battery)
  • 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
  • 8. Insert the battery only. (only for removable battery)
  • 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
