This question has been asked many times, but I can't find anything that seems to help me so far, and I've tried a few things, but am a little wary when suggestions are for other models of laptops or desktops. I have a HP Omen gaming laptop model: J9K22UA#ABA. The Omen Control has changed somehow, and so now I don't get backlights for the keys/keyboard. All the keys function, and I do have lights for the power button and speakers only, and I can change the colors for those also.. Using Function/ f5 does nothing for the backlighting, but those buttons otherwise work for other things in other programs. Also, once upon a time, the FANS used to have 3 settings: Normal, Fast, and Maximum, or something like that, and now there's only the option of "FANS AT MAXIMUM", so somehow the Omen Control has changed. What can I do for this model of laptop? The keys used to work until some update, of which I can't remember when, so I figure it has to be some kind of software thing.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I checked the specifications of your computer and that your computer supports Omen control and you can change the Lighting/Macro Key on the computer. For more information please refer to the below article.

I recommend you uninstall the Omen control software from the computer and then download and install it from the below link and check if it helps.
