I really need help keeping my laptop cool. I've got a pad that lifts up the back where the screen is that has a cooling fan on it, but it is still really hot. Is there anyway that isn't getting it fixed, taking it apart, or honestly that costs money to fix that? Maybe some sort of software I could download? Sorry I'm pretty inexperienced in this field.

Hi,

First, see if there are any processes or services running that are constantly keeping the CPU running above 20% or so. You can do this by entering Task Manager.

try cleaning the air outlets and the actual fan of the notebook. You can use some compressed air (there are cans available in any electronics store) when the PC is off and cold. See if it helps,

If it does not help, you will most likely need to open the PC and clean the fan from inside and maybe replace the thermal material on the CPU.Page 68 of service manual

Hope it helps,

David
