@vid2

Given the date of your post, I would have expected someone to respond to it before this -- but since that has not happened, I will take a shot at it ...

You've lumped a bunch of different, unrelated issues into one thread -- which is probably why no one else wanted to address this. I will have to provide you different answers for the different issues.

1 - Slow laptop.  If the laptop is REALLY slow, as in painfully slow with lagging apparent, that is almost certainly due to a failing drive. So, let's check that first, because if it is failing, it would need to be replaced and there is no point then in doing anything else until we confirm that.

If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the HDD (Hard Disk Drive): http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024

If not, to check the HDD you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu
3) Press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.

If the drive checks out OK, then report that and I can provide you options for reinstalling Windows on your PC.

Please note that if your model has an SSD instead of an HDD, these diagnostics might not work properly.

2 - Screen moving when typing.  Have no idea why this is happening.  If you have keyboard macros or shortcuts implemented, and that depends ENTIRELY on the app you are using when you are typing, that could cause this by changing the screen focus. But without knowing the app you are using, we can not even guess as to this issue.

3 -- Software and firmware -- simple question but NOT a simple answer.  There is not ONE software on the PC, so there is not ONE version, either.  The OS has a version, each of the OS system files have their own version. Each application has its own version. Each driver has its own version. Each HP utility has its own version.  There is no single way to check all of these. That said, I have no reason to believe that these have anything at all to do with your issues.
