Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I would like to help

To run the HP SimpleSave backup software:

1. Connect the drive to your computer and:

2. Double-click the HP SimpleSave file listing to launch the backup software:

3. Carefully read and agree to the End User License Agreement (EULA) the first time you use HP SimpleSave by clicking the Accept button. HP SimpleSave backup software runs directly from your HP External Portable Drive and does not need to be installed on your computer*.

4. HP SimpleSave adds a small utility program, the HP SimpleSave Monitor, to your computer to keep track of which files have changed since your last backup.

5. The SimpleSave icon appears in your system tray. If you leave your HP drive connected in, HP SimpleSave performs an incremental backup every time your computer is idle for five minutes. Each time you start HP SimpleSave it automatically checks for a software update
