Hi @KHASIM9896,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your HP Pavilion x360 touchpad, and the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on the "i2c hid device" in Device Manager suggests there might be a driver or hardware issue. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers

Update Driver:

  1. Open Device Manager (right-click the Start menu and select "Device Manager").
  2. Locate "i2c hid device" under "Human Interface Devices."
  3. Right-click it and select "Update driver."
  4. Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software" and follow the prompts.

Reinstall Driver:

  1. In Device Manager, right-click "i2c hid device" and select "Uninstall device."
  2. Restart your laptop. Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

2. Check for Windows Updates

  • Sometimes, Windows updates can include drivers or patches for hardware issues.
    1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    2. Click "Check for updates" and install any available updates.

3. Check for HP Software Updates

  • HP often releases updates for their devices which might include touchpad drivers.
    1. Go to the HP Support website.
    2. Enter your laptop’s model number and look for drivers and software updates specific to your device.

4. Check BIOS Settings

  • Ensure that the touchpad is enabled in BIOS/UEFI settings.
    1. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F10, Esc, or another key during startup).
    2. Look for touchpad settings and make sure it's enabled.
    3. Save and exit the BIOS/UEFI.

5. Hardware Troubleshooting

  • If the software solutions don’t work, there could be a hardware issue with the touchpad.
    • Try connecting an external mouse to see if it works. If the external mouse works fine, the issue is likely with the touchpad or its connection.
    • Check if the touchpad connector inside the laptop is properly seated. This may require professional assistance if you’re not comfortable opening your laptop.

6. Perform a System Restore

  • If the touchpad was working before and suddenly stopped, you might be able to restore your system to a previous state.
    1. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System.
    2. Click "System Protection" and then "System Restore."

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
