Notebook 15s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Brand new Notebook. Neither of the 2 USB or SD-card ports work. Don't have devices to test the other ones (HDMI etc).

Tried most of the tips here, like reinstalling the driver and reinstalling windows. Running UEFI hardwere diagnostics for USB ports can't be completed as it does'nt recognize anything being connected to them.

Device manager looks like this:

USB.png

It says: This device cannot boot. (Code 10)

{Action could not be performed}

The requested action could not be performed.

Honestly out of ideas now. Warranty is running out soon so would like to know if I can fix this myself.

I reviewed your post and I understand the USB ports on the computer are not working.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the product number of your computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

If you continue facing the issue, then install all the Windows updates (Including optional) and test.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Select the Start (Windows) button from the bottom-left corner.
  2. Go to settings (gear icon).
  3. Select the Update and Security icon.
  4. Choose Windows Update tab in the sidebar (Circular arrows)
  5. Select Check for updates. If there is an available update, it will begin downloading automatically.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I recommend you run a test on the USB ports following the steps in the below article and check if it helps.
