My work keeps being interrupted at least once an by a screen coming up to tell me that my system is up to date - see example below..

How do I prevent this unnecessary and unwanted interruption?

Looks like a message from HP Support Assistant.

HPSA - newer format version (9.6.x and beyond)

Open HP Support Assistant

If you have not done so, sign in using your HP Account credentials

Click the Settings wheel

UNCHECK (or leave) the two main notifications

Click More settings

UNCHECK all the boxes except the last one (and this one, too, if you want to do so)

Look around - set / check other options.

Close HPSA

Restart the computer and log in

Sorry but that didn't work.  I am still being interrupted every hour to tell me my machine is up to date.  This is completely unnecessary and unwanted.

How can it be turned off?

@BigArold

Apologies not necessary - solutions depend on finding and clearing the underlying cause.

Shut off notifications

Method - Switch off Notifications (Windows 10)

Settings > System > Notifications and actions >

Beneath Notifications, set the following to OFF

  • Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows
  • Get notifications from apps and other senders

Too Much?

Pick and Choose...

Method - Switch off Selected Notifications (Windows 10)

Settings > System > Notifications and actions >

Beneath Notifications

Switch ON Get notifications from apps and other senders

Scroll down to the list of "apps" > switch on / off each application

Optional

Switch OFF Show me the Windows Welcome experience...

Switch OFF Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows

Method - Printer Notifications (Recent versions of Windows)

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers >

Left-Click one time on any Printer > (top ribbon) Print Server Properties >

Tab Advanced > UNCHECK the following

  • Show informational notifications for local printers
  • Show informational notifications for network printers

OK

Not enough?

  • Dig into the Task Manager to find the source of the message.
  • Search the 'net - There are many articles on the subject of "Disable Desktop Notifications" that include where to look and what to switch off.
