HP ENVY x360 - 15m-dr1012dx
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I went and upgraded this HP ENVY x360 - 15m-dr1012dx, to Windows 11 Pro, from the Windows 10 Home it obviously preferers. All of a sudden, the warrantee is no good, and the driver detection and installation tools haven't got a clue what to do with it. Certainly this laptop is Windows 11 capable if not all out ready and willing... it's a screamin' fast little laptop with plenty of system resources. I've looked all over but can't seem to find directions for an OS Upgrade path or directions of some kind.

Can someone please help me find some sort of guide on what to do from here? I really like to stay on top of my driver updates and whatnot.. and it makes it next to impossible in this situation. IT seems to be running OK at the moment... but.. anyway... I'm pretty sure you know where I'm coming from.

*Any* help at all would be so greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time!!

No, you can't upgrade Windows 10 Home to Windows 11 Pro unless your Windows is also Windows 10 Pro. You have to do 2 steps

  • Upgrade Windows 10 Home to Window1 10 Pro after paying money to Microsoft,
  • Then upgrade Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro Free.

Regards.
