Warranty has already commenced 9th May 2022 - I only purchased this laptop brand new yesterday ??

HI, I purchased a new laptop from Officeworks Mornington in Victoria, Australia yesterday 9th October 2022 and have loaded the Serial Number to register the warranty - HP Warranty service is saying it was registered May 10 2022 and will expire July 08 2023 and that the initial setup support has expired too (registered May 10 2022 and expired last week) - any ideas ? box was sealed and purchased through reputable retail chain store etc etc
