The laptop, a 360x with a 15.6-inch display, emits a concerning odor, especially when plugged in. I suspect it's related to the battery, raising worries about potential toxic gases. Urgently needing assistance for laptop repair, I purchased the Pavilion x360 about three years ago, and the problem began approximately yesterday. When attempting to charge, the laptop not only emits a foul odor but also fails to open or charge properly. It seems completely non-functional. Unsure of what to do, I'm curious if HP has a repair center available near Quebec Canada ?

Hi @Clouds16,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

This needs immediate attention.

However, I would request you follow a few steps to isolate the issue.

connect the charger step away to a secured distance and try to figure out where the smell is coming from.

Keep me posted.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
