HP ENVY m7 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop crashed so hard, it can’t boot up windows. I’m trying to get a clean copy of the installed Windows 10 OS, but I need the product key for the software. I have the BIOS pulled up and it’s not there. Is it on the laptop or box somewhere?

Hi:

The product key is in the BIOS but you can't read it unless you use special software with Windows installed.

Make a bootable USB W10 installation flash drive using the Microsoft Media Creation Tool at the link below.

You want the 64 bit file.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

When you get to the list of the various W10 versions to install, select W10 Home.

You should not need to enter a product key.

After the installation has completed, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
