If you are using "Windows Mail",
might be a simple "sync" issue.
Find that and other help from Microsoft.

What else - Windows Mail
In particular, there is little "we" offer for Windows Mail - its operation is controlled by Windows.
General advice
Make sure your Windows Updates are current.
Check and run Windows Updates -- if any Updates are installed, Restart the computer and log in.
What else?
Having added your email account to Windows Mail application, you can remove your email account from Windows Mail.
After that, Check the Microsoft Store to see if there is an update to the Windows Mail application or any other application managed / provided by the Store.
Check / Update applications in / from the Microsoft Store
Windows key > Open the Tile for Microsoft Store
If necessary, sign into the store
Click on “See more” (three horizontal dots … )
Select Downloads and Updates
Click Get Updates
Whether or not the app updates,
Restart the computer and log in.
Open Windows Mail and add your email back into the application.
Remember:
Windows Mail dislikes Two-Step verification.
In your email provider setup, add / use an Apps Password or switch OFF 2-Step verification.
