Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and understand that you have an HP Stream Notebook - 14-z000nr. I read that the battery does not charge and you get a message saying "plugged in, not charging." Also, the AC adapter light on the notebook is flashing white. I'd like to help you with this case. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

I suggest you to manually calibrate the battery by following the steps under "Manually Calibrating the battery in Windows 8" .Once the battery calibration is successful, please run a battery test from the ";F2 System Diagnostics screen." If the battery test passes then I suggest a BIOS update to be performed on the laptop. The BIOS update is available via this link: http://hp.care/2gGhRKo.

Let me know what happens. Keep me posted. Cheers!

You're welcome. 🙂 If the battery test is missing from the F2 menu then I suggest you to download and install the  latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics from this link: http://hp.care/2bTM5IO (download  v. 6.2.1.0).

Please restart the laptop after installing the update. Then try to go to F2 menu and check if battery test is present. BIOS can be updated from this link: http://hp.care/2gGhRKo

Good luck! 🙂
