computer shuts off by itself and then restarts

HP envy laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

 My HP envy laptop shuts off and then restarts on its own.  It rus windows 10. All necessary updates are installed.

 

The Error message is :" Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info and then we'll restart for you"

 

 It also says I should give the Tech Support this info, Stop Code: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I see that your HP notebook is restarting on its own. Appreciate all your efforts so far. I will do my best to find you a solution 😉


To assist you better, I need to know the complete product number of your notebook. If unsure, please check: http://hp.care/2oPCMBG Also, did you make any recent updates or changes before this issue started?
 

Alternatively, let's try to do a BIOS default on your PC. Here are the steps:
 

  1. Shutdown the computer.
  2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
  3. Press F10 once for BIOS.
  4. Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
  5. Press F10 to save and exit.

 

If the issue started happening after a recent update, then you might be able to restore the system to a point before. System Restore automatically creates restore points, a memory of the system files and settings on the computer at a particular point in time. Then, when you use System Restore to restore your computer to a point in time before an issue began, System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected.

Go to http://hp.care/2bS4d95 and follow the steps under “Restore your computer when Windows cannot start normally”.
