"How" depends on whether the computer includes a built-in backlit keyboard.
HP Notebook PCs - Using the Backlit Keyboard
Open your computer's Product Home
Open Category Manuals
Look for and Open the User Guide for the machine
The information is likely in the first chapter -- for example, look for keywords "Special keys" or "Action keys"
If your computer has a backlit keyboard, the key will be marked.
At least some systems use the F5 key for this action.
