Subject: Need Older BIOS for HP Laptop – Battery Issues After Update

Hi everyone,

After updating my HP laptop to the latest BIOS, the battery life dropped drastically—from 7 hours to just 1-2 hours. Unfortunately, there are no older BIOS versions on the HP site to roll back.

Does anyone know where I can find previous versions or how to fix this issue?

Thanks!

Hi:

I can only help you as to where to find the available previous versions of the BIOS updates for your notebook, and it won't be of any help to you.

You cannot go back to any previous version according to the release notes for the current version and many of the earlier ones.

At the link below for the most recent BIOS update, click to expand the Revision HIstory line.

You will then see a list of all of the release notes for the previous versions and below the release notes will be the BIOS update download files.

Hopefully, in a future BIOS update HP will fix the problem if it is affecting the model series and not just your particular notebook.
