Hi @Elfernatt,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Victus 16 laptop screen and keyboard lights turn off while playing games, it may be due to overheating or power management settings. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve these issues:

Ensure Proper Ventilation:

  • Make sure your laptop is placed on a flat, hard surface to ensure proper airflow. Avoid using it on soft surfaces like beds or couches where vents could be blocked.

Clean Dust from Vents:

  • Over time, dust can accumulate in the vents and fans, causing overheating. Use compressed air to gently clean the vents and fans to improve airflow.

Update BIOS and Drivers:

  • Ensure that your BIOS and device drivers are up to date. You can download the latest updates from the HP Support website.

Adjust Power Management Settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings.
  • Choose your active power plan and click on Change plan settings.
  • Click on Change advanced power settings.
  • Adjust settings under Processor power management and Display. Set the minimum processor state to a low value, such as 5%, and the maximum processor state to 100%.

Monitor Temperature:

  • Use software like HWMonitor or Core Temp to monitor the CPU and GPU temperatures. If the temperatures exceed recommended limits, you may need to improve cooling.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  1. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
    • Turn off the laptop and then turn it back on while pressing the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears. Select F2 to enter System Diagnostics and run the tests.
    • Follow any troubleshooting steps listed if errors are found.

Consider Using a Cooling Pad:

  • A cooling pad can help improve airflow and keep your laptop cooler while gaming. Choose a cooling pad with multiple fans for better cooling.

I hope this helps.
