I am currently experiencing a loud alarm sound from my HP laptop notebook. It was due for a cleaning anyway and the fan was loaded with dust so I thought that’s what was doing it.  I put some 3 in 1 oil on the fan and reinstalled.  However, the loud noise still continues.  I then updated the BIOS drivers from the website and that didn’t fix it. I even called Microsoft but they were unable to help.  It the first time I heard it was when I was trying to get my soundbar to work on my tv – I have my laptop connected to my TV through HDMI.  The sound is similar to an alarm and I am unable to control the volume of the noise.  Please help!

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Please run an Extensive System test to confirm the Hardware Functionality and also let me know if you hear the alarm sound during the Test

- Shut down the Notebook completely
- Turn it back on, then tap the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup menu screen is displayed.
- Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
- Click System Tests, then click Extensive Test.

Keep me posted
