Office "365" (not 265) and any paid version is only good for one year.  There is no lifetime subscription option to Office 365 as far as I can determine. And finally, the version that comes preloaded is a TRIAL version and you have to buy a subscription on your own to extend it to a year.

We can not assist you in this in any way -- so you will have to contact where you bought it and make any arrangements through them.  HP does not sell Office 365 to customers after the purchase.

I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP

We are not HP Support nor do we have any contact with the HP Store or the Store Customer Service.

The only information to which we have access indicates the product comes with a Trial Version of the Software.

If you were to have received a license for a subscription, the license information should have been included with your purchase paper work (email order confirmation or shipment notice).

The only thing we can do - and it may not help for purchase questions -

I will forward your question to the Moderator Group for Review

Request for Review

  • I have submitted a request that our Community moderators review your question / concern.

Worth Noting

  • Our Community is not an HP business group.
  • We are not HP Technical Support, nor are we HP Sales, Service, or Warranty.
  • Our request for assistance on your behalf does not influence the outcome:  Our request is not a magic back door into HP Support.
  • The time frame (how long it takes) for a response is not controlled by the Community.
  • If / When there is a response, a Community moderator / agent will (should) post back on this thread before using other methods to contact you.

  • Do not contact random numbers posted in a public or private message by “new members”.  Vermin are looking for victims – don’t be next.
  • Please do not post any personal or case information here - we cannot make use of the data.
  • Posting personal information at a public site increases your risk from rats and scammers.

What else?

Very recent purchase?

If yes...

Contact HP Store Customer Service.

If your paper work confirms the inclusion of the license, see if you can get someone to track down the original purchase paper work and fix the discrepancy.

An "offer" to try the software, in other words.  The license is NOT included in Trial offers.

  1. Purchase Microsoft Office when you purchase your computer

Look for your license key with your purchase paperwork.

  1. Receive a “free one year subscription to Office 365 when you purchase the computer (quite rare).

If you have trouble with this exact type of “installed” Office before it has expired,

Contact HP Support for recovery options.
