Hi @pratikkorde,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Pavilion x360 may have a battery issue, where it only functions when plugged into a power source. This could be related to a failing battery or an issue with the power settings. Here's what you can try to troubleshoot.

Check Battery Health:

  • In Windows, you can check the battery health by going to Settings > System > Battery, or you can generate a battery report via the Command Prompt:
    1. Press Windows + X, select Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    2. Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.
    3. Navigate to the folder shown in the output (usually C:\Users\YourUsername), open the battery-report.html file to see the health status of your battery.

Try a Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the charger, power off the laptop, and remove the battery if it's removable. Hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reinstall the battery, plug in the charger, and try powering it on again.

Update Battery Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager, expand the Batteries section, right-click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, and choose Uninstall device. Restart your laptop to let Windows reinstall the drivers.

Check Power Settings:

  • Make sure that your laptop isn't set to limit battery usage under power settings. Go to Settings > System > Power & Sleep and review your power plan.

Test with Another Charger:

  • If possible, test with another charger to rule out any issue with your current charging adapter or cable.

Consider Battery Replacement:

  • If the battery health report shows significant wear, it might be time for a replacement battery.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
