Hi @tbaba,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble installing a mouse for your HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14, here are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check Mouse Compatibility
- Ensure that the mouse you're trying to install is compatible with your device and operating system. If it's a wired or wireless USB mouse, it should generally be plug-and-play. For Bluetooth mice, make sure your laptop's Bluetooth is enabled.
Wired Mouse Installation
- Plug the Mouse In: If it's a wired mouse, connect it to a USB port. Wait for a few seconds to see if Windows automatically installs the necessary drivers.
- Driver Installation: If Windows doesn't automatically detect the mouse, go to Device Manager (press Windows + X > Device Manager), and look for any "Unknown Device" under Mice and other pointing devices. If you see one, right-click it and select Update driver.
Bluetooth Mouse Installation
- Enable Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices. Ensure Bluetooth is on.
- Pair the Mouse: Press the pairing button on the mouse (usually on the bottom) and wait for it to appear under Bluetooth devices. Select it and click Pair.
- Troubleshoot Bluetooth Issues: If the mouse doesn’t connect, try removing it from the list of paired devices and reconnecting it.
Check Windows Updates
- Sometimes, driver installation issues can be resolved with a simple Windows update. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for any updates. Install any available updates and restart your laptop.
Download and Install Drivers Manually
- Go to the mouse manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your mouse model.
- If it's an HP-branded mouse, you can visit the HP Support website and search for drivers specific to your mouse model.
Use a Different USB Port or Replace Batteries
- For wired mice, try a different USB port on your laptop.
- For wireless or Bluetooth mice, check if the batteries need to be replaced or recharged.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
