HP Recommended

Hello,

I got this 15-br001ng that I can't close cause one of the screw holders broke out of one of the black plastic parts attached to the top cover.
Four years ago I opened up a case at german HP support four years ago and back then they did not inform me that there is actually the full top cover to buy and repair at them would have costed more than the device itself — while the cover is about 70 bucks (part number 924499-001 GB1820)... Not even after I opened a case for complaint at HP back then. (That was one year after I bought the device btw.)
Well, part search (that I got made aware of at least by the support after pro-actively asking if there isn't a way to get the part...) did not show me the cover either when searching for the device name (maybe not even for the number on the top cover back then; I don't remember) and it still doesn't btw (while searching the number on the top cover does display it).
So, well. Whatever. When searching online I found that there are also "no touch" top covers for the 15-br line. And looking at pictures, they don't really seem different — unless I missed something.
Could it be that they are actually compatible? Since they go for less than 30 bucks and that would be pretty neat.
Or would somehow touch stop working magically? I mean I do have all the cables, heh.
And well, as I wrote before, only one of the black plastic parts in the lower edge of the cover broke — could I not just take one from a "no touch" top cover and place it in my existing one?

Any other suggestions on what I should do?
I also got a 3D printer now and designed a part that is approximately similar to the black plastic but no idea how to securely hold the metal onto it. Any recommendations on glue or something that should work well?

Have a nice weekend.
