I am trying to have my laptop work with two additional monitors.
I have two monitors that work with HDMI connections. On my work PC (Windows 10, different manufacturer), I can connect my 2 HDMI into my USB-C hub, and my two displays will work, and I can extend my extend or duplicate/mirror displays. If I use the same USB-C hub on my MacBook, it will also recognize all the monitors.
When I use the usb-c hub on my HP laptop, it does not recognize any of my monitors.
I can plug each monitor into the HDMI port, and the monitors will work individually. Still, I want both monitors to work simultaneously (in an extended displays mode), which it won't. I tried to plug one monitor into the HDMI port and the other into an HDMI to USB female adaptor, or an HDMI to USB C adaptor, or an HDMI to DisplayPort to USB C adaptor, but none will work. The system will not detector a monitor unless plugged into an HDMI port, but my laptop only has 1.
I have ensured that I have all my windows updates updated and my drivers are the most up-to-date.
What can I do to resolve the issue? Is there something I can change in the graphics/display settings? Is there a compatible hub I can purchase? I am tired of washing money on hubs/splitters/cords that don't work.

What is your HP 15-dy2000 Series machine ? I use the following machine (on Canada market) to answer your question. Your machine should have SAME ports
which shows it ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine
- Connect to an external monitor with / without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors (and notebook monitor - total 3), please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few USB-A DisplayLink Certified options on market today including some HP products (you can select HP before Search)
