Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Acer LCD external monitor that I am trying to connect to my hp EliteBook laptop through USB-C cable. My EliteBook laptop will not display anything. When I plug it into the laptop it does cut the Acer LCD monitor on but nothing is displayed. Then the Acer monitor shows a message no signal and then cuts off. Please tell me what to do. Please tell what to do.
