Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (599K0AV)

f5bd1f98-4db7-4daf-a5b7-2e1cdd7e231a.jpgPeace.

I bought a hp victus model laptop 2 weeks ago. I did all the installations and installed windows 11 and updated my drivers. But there is a distortion that I see sometimes very often. I see a horizontal line of different colored pixels 2 or 3 pixels wide stretching across the screen. When there is any refresh on the screen (mouse movement for example) the line disappears. What should I do, thank you in advance.

I would first connect an external monitor to see if this artifact also appears on the monitor.

IF it does, then that indicates the video chipset is failing -- and those can't be replaced (as far as I know).

If if does NOT, then that indicates the laptop screen is failing -- and those are very expensive to replace.

If this were mine, and only this old, I would contact where I bought it, explain the problem and if they are unwilling to fix it, then  demand a refund of the purchase price -- and buy something else.

You paid a LOT of money for this -- and deserve to have something that works without issues like this.

The computer is under warranty. If I send it to the warranty, will they solve the problem?

Don't know the answer...
