miniDP to DP is the way to go. you will get same result. You get 100% when use mini DP to DP but using USB-C to DP, the chance is 50/50.
I actually use miniDP to DP on my Omen machine. I also use miniDP to HDMI (v 2.0) on other machine. Which monitor ? Well, there and hundreds and hundreds of models/products. I don't have all of them to test. Please try
