EliteBook 2170p
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP brand EliteBook 2170p laptop running Windows 7.

This all started when my laptop was in sleep mode. When I lifted the screen, it didn't turn on, the screen was black despite that the laptop was on. So I shut off the the laptop by turning it off with the power button.

When I turned it back on the screen was black, but the caps lock and number lock were blinking 3 times. I could also hear the fans. If anybody knows what's wrong or how I can fix this, please don't hesitate to reply.

Hi,

First, try performing a power reset. Here is how to do it

Try also reseating the RAM modules. Try to touch them only on the sides to avoid static electricity on the chips.

Let me know,

David
