HP X360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The screen of the laptop stays black. It starts normally with an extern monitor. I have tried all the suggestions as bios update etc.

A few weeks ago the problem also accures. At that time the bios update was the solutions.

The standard answers on the HP site have been tried.

Does anyone have new sugestions?

Hey there! @Brokkie, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand when you turn on your PC you see a black screen on it however, the external monitor works fine.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any hardware or software changes on your PC?

Are you able to access BIOS page on your PC?

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

As the external monitor works fine, it looks like an issue with the display backlight or the display cable might have gone faulty on your laptop.

Try using a flashlight to flash it on the laptop screen and check if you can see the display. If you can see the screen it means the display backlight has gone faulty on your laptop.

However, if you don't see any display it is an issue with the display cable or the display raw panel on your laptop which could have gone faulty.

Also, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware on your laptop is functioning correctly.

Refer this article to know more information about running system diagnostics on your PC.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps it is a hardware issue with your PC.

I will share you few details through a private message about the service options.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day! 🙂
