Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I’ve recently started experiencing the bottom half of my screen go darker than the rest. It goes dim like maybe it’s on the lowest contrast setting, and this lasts from between a second to 30 at most. When it goes dim there’s nothing I can do to make it go back to normal brightness, I just have to wait.

I installed some graphic driver updates about a month ago but I can’t remember if this was happening before that time or not. If it was, then it’s definitely gotten worse in the past few weeks anyway.

attached is a photo so you can see what I mean. In the photo it looks worse on one side but in person it’s pretty even the whole way across.

any help much appreciated, thanks!

@Cvfo7

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • When was the last time it worked without these issues?
  • Have you checked the display on an external monitor?

Let’s try these steps to resolve the problem:

I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting,

If the issue persists in the BIOS screen which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
