OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0025tx
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, all I bought my omen 15  laptop in Aug 2020 and it was working fine till Sep 2021 then one-day bottom half of my display was not visible, I visited an HP store and they told me to change the display driver and reinstall windows but none of that worked. Then I visited the HP service center and they told me to change the display without looking at the issue and the price that I have to pay for it is too much.
The issue that I am facing is very specific:
If I use my laptop for some time then the bottom half of my display goes black and the other half is displayed properly. If I open the taskbar by using a keyboard shortcut then the display goes back to normal but then it flickers and then I have to minimize all windows and use it. If I maximize it then again the bottom half goes black. I don't think this is a display issue as it works fine again if I shut down for 4-5 hours but then if I use it for more than one hour then I face the issue again,
Can someone please help me?

@Vignesh31

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • When was the last time it worked without these issues?
  • Have you updated Graphics and Chipset drivers?
  • Have you checked the display on an external monitor?

Let’s try these steps to resolve the problem:

I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting,

If the issue persists in the BIOS screen which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
