Can I connect dual monitors to HP ENVY Laptop 17-ae0xx

HP ENVY Laptop 17-ae0xx

Hello,

I have two HP24fw monitors with VGA and HDMI outputs and I would like to connect them both to my HP ENVY Laptop 17-ae0xx.

I only have 1 HDMI input port on my laptop, and do not have a VGA input port (I also have 3 USB ports and don't think I have a thunderbolt port). Will a HDMI splitter work (to connect two HDMI's down to one) or will I need the HP Hub?

I tried using a VGA splitter to USB port but this disconnected the monitor that was already successfully connected via the HDMI connection (it's like only one monitor will connect to the laptop at any one time).

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

@PML16

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

HDMI splitters take a signal in from your computer HDMI port and then send that exact same signal out to multiple displays.
As they are not tested by HP and may not be accurate. however, you could change the configuration at your own discretion.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
