727PK

Request technical specification for monitor 727PK:

I'm interested to buy a HP monitor 727PK to be used as USB-Hub for two laptops connected simultaneously.

For this, I want to use the KVM-Switch feature to up-stream graphics and data. Thus both laptops should be able to be charged simultaneously with the power delivery feature. I only found one Thunderbolt-4 upstream port.

a) Can I upstream the two laptops with Thunderbolt-4 without having to unplug?

b) If only one thunderbolt 4 is available for up-streaming,

b1) Does another HP-monitor exists that will covers my need?

b2) For simultaneously charging and up-streaming, does an alternate port exists on the 727PK

and what will be the limitation?

c) Is there a power-delivery limitation when I want to charge both laptops at the same time?

No, you can NOT use both machines at the same time, you can use one by one using the KVM-Switch feature.

Thank you Banhien, I've no clue how it realy works. So I 'm not shure I get you answer well. I only have in mind the 30 year old KVM-black-box solution.
Do you mean by "one by one" that you get control (with keyboard, mouse Monitor and other interface) either on Laptop 1 or Laptop 2? If so, I'm with you. I don't expect something else.

But do I have to physicaly unplug something to switch control from Laptop 1 to Laptop2? If not, is done per software or with a physical switch/button on the monitor?
If unplug is not requested to switch control, two USB-C cable will permanetly have to be connected to the monitor; one for each Laptop. Then is the battery charging working too on the Laptop that don't get the control? When I read the spec of the monitor 727PK, I don't recognise two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 plugs? If realy so, what happens with the charging performance of the Laptop that is connected to the USB-C port that don't have Thunderbolt 4?

The KVM switch is the way to go, you have to switch to 1 or 2 (or 3 ...) to connect. I know on market today they sell but you to switch OFF the first one to allow it to know the second one.  Which ever way you have to control the switch.

No, no need to switch off.  I don't know any software no market today to control that. For auto switch you still have to turn off

In your case, the following clip may help
