Can't disable touchpad on HP 15BS289wm

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i just set up my laptop and i cant get the touchpad to disable.  it doesnt highlight the option to disable anywhere.  I also cant roll back to an earlier driver.  I set this up last week and i already have this issue--PLEASE HELP TO DISABLE TOUCHPAD!!!

I understand that you would like to disable the touchpad.

 

If you wish to disable your touchpad, I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.

  1. Press Windows Key +X.
  2. Select the Device Manager.
  3. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  4. Right-click on Synaptic touchpad driver and select Disable.
  5. Click OK to confirm and check with the issue.

the disable isn't highlighted--only rollback driver and uninstall are highlighted

Follow the below steps and check if it helps.

 

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click on Devices.
  3. Click on Touchpad.
  4. Under "Touchpad," clear the Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected option.

Once you completed the steps, the touchpad will remain disabled unless you disconnect your mouse.
