Hi @Duartwork,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear about the display damage on your laptop—that must be frustrating. Upgrading from an HD to an FHD display is often possible with some HP Pavilion models, including the HP Pavilion 15 series. Here’s some guidance on whether an upgrade is feasible and what you’ll need to consider:
. Check Compatibility
- First, check the model specifications for your HP Pavilion - 15-ck002np to ensure it supports an FHD (1920x1080) display. Many laptops in this series do offer FHD as an option, which increases the likelihood that an FHD screen will work with your hardware.
- Look up the laptop’s service manual (available on the HP support website) for specific compatibility details. The manual often lists supported display resolutions and part numbers.
2. Inspect Display Cable Compatibility
- HD and FHD displays may sometimes use different display cables (also known as an eDP cable). FHD screens require more data bandwidth, so check if the current cable is compatible with an FHD screen.
- The service manual should indicate if an upgrade to an FHD screen requires a different cable, or you can contact HP support for confirmation.
3. Purchase an FHD Display Panel
- Once you’ve confirmed compatibility, you can purchase an FHD display panel. Look for an IPS or LED FHD panel that matches your laptop’s model number. Vendors often specify which HP models their screens are compatible with.
- Ensure the screen matches the size, connector type, and mounting specifications (usually 30 or 40-pin connectors).
4. Adjust Resolution Settings (After Replacement)
- Once the FHD display is installed, boot up your laptop and check the Display Settings in Windows to set the resolution to 1920x1080, if it doesn’t adjust automatically.
Upgrading to FHD can give you a much better viewing experience without additional modifications as long as the components are compatible. However, I recommend you contact phone support for more information.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hello Elohi_NR;
Sorry for the late feedback, I bought a FHD display with thesimilliar characterisics as the older one, I recived it today and after installing it, everything is working like a charm. Big difference from HD to FHD!!! But when I bought it, I search for the older display information to be sure that the new display had the same pin connection, compatibility. Anyaway, it worked!
Thanks for your support my friend! 😉
