Hola buenas.
Saludos!

Hi. I have bought a portable triple monitor extender in which I wanted to connect it to my HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13m-bd1xxx but it only recognizes one monitor and not two. I wanted to know what caused this problem, how I could solve it and, if it can be solved, how I could connect it correctly. I followed all the product instructions, but nevertheless, the installation is done well and the problem persists. At the same time, if it is a problem with the same PC, would there be the possibility of expanding the monitors it supports?
Greetings!

Hi @BrianHambra,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13m-bd1xxx typically has the capability to support multiple external monitors, but the number you can extend might be limited by the hardware and the graphics capabilities of your specific model.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to address your issue:
Check Graphics Specifications:
- Your HP ENVY x360 should have integrated graphics (like Intel Iris Xe Graphics) which generally supports multiple external monitors. However, the exact number might depend on your specific configuration and whether the graphics driver is up to date.
- To check the capabilities, go to Device Manager > Display adapters and see what graphics hardware is listed. You can look up its specifications online to confirm its maximum monitor support.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Ensure you have the latest graphics drivers installed. You can update them via Device Manager or download the latest drivers from the HP website or the graphics card manufacturer’s site.
Check Display Settings:
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down to Multiple displays and see if the system recognizes the connected monitors. Click Detect if the second monitor is not automatically recognized.
Verify Connection Method:
- If you are using a USB-to-HDMI adapter or similar device for the portable triple monitor extender, ensure it’s properly connected and supported by the driver software. Some adapters require specific drivers to work correctly.
- Make sure all connections are secure and try connecting each monitor individually to verify if they are functioning properly.
Try a Different USB Port:
- Sometimes using a different USB port can help. Ensure you're using a USB 3.0 port if available, as it provides better performance than USB 2.0.
Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Sometimes firmware updates for the monitor extender or for your laptop’s USB controllers can resolve compatibility issues.
BIOS/UEFI Settings:
- Check if there are any settings related to external monitors in the BIOS/UEFI of your laptop. Sometimes there might be settings related to display or graphics that need to be adjusted.
Test with Other Devices:
- If possible, test the portable triple monitor extender with another laptop or PC to confirm if the issue is with the extender or with your laptop.
