Connecting a monitor to a Spectre Folio via Thunderbolt port

HP Recommended
HP Spectre Folio
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought an adapter from iHome to connect from my Thunderbolt port on My Spectre Folio to an external monitor. Im not getting anything on my monitor. When I plug the monitor into my old laptop, it automatically displays whatever is on my laptop screen. Is there a different adapter or setting that I need to make this work?

@whiteyvail Welcome to HP Forums Community!

There's something you need to know about using the thunderbolt USB Type-C port:
Both the ends should support Thunderbolt, which means the computer/laptop and the monitor should contain the Thunderbolt feature, otherwise, it wouldn't work and you may want to use an adapter that converts USB Type-C to HDMI or DVI, etc.
