Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

 

I am trying to connect a USB-C monitor (MSI MAG272C) to my Elitebook 845 G7 via direct USB-C connection. My monitor offers an USB-C port described as:
USB-C Port
This port can send simultaneously video signal and power stream up to
PD 5V/3A. It doesn’t support data transmission function.

 

However when I connect it directly to my laptops USB-C port nothing happens... It does not even post a device connected prompt. 

 

What might be the issue?

Apparently it was the cable. I tried with another and it worked perfectly. On paper the specs were identical...
