Dark area on screen

HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since a few weeks ago I got a dark spot on my notebook screen (see photos). Should I take it in for repairs? It seems to me like a hardware fault, however they don't look like stuck or faulty pixels.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

@MvWF1

Welcome to HP support community.

Check if that occurs on an alternate monitor, or in BIOS

  1. Turn on or restart the computer.
  2. While the display is blank, press the f10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu.

If that occurs, this could be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
