Hi,

This evening a shdow appeared in the bottom left corner of my screen (see below).20181203_210432[1].jpg

The shadow goes away briefly if I tilt the screen just right, but I can't hold it there. I also noticed that the cover is peeling away from the screen just a bit (it doesn't fit snugly) in the same place, so I assume this is a hardware/connection problem.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks for any help,

Matt

You may ghave a hinge issue which has damaged the screen cable. If you can ever get the black part to go away it means the screen itself is OK it is just not receiving a signal from the screen cable. Can you post a picture of where:

Hopefully you can see the problem from these pictures.

Thanks again,

I think I see a gap between the screen bezel or plastic frame and the screen housing or back. This is the early symptom of a hinge issue.

Hi again,

Is there anything I can do to solve this issue myself?

Thanks,

Matt

Not sure what your tech skills might be but the first thing to do would be to disassemble down to where the screen cable attaches to the motherboard and where the screen cable attaches to the back of the screen. Try reseating the connections. Next thing is to try to replace the screen cable and also you need to check the integrity of the hinges.
