Display Flickers with brief Black Screen

Display encounters brief and irregular flickers, sometimes with full black screen.  Happens both on and off internet. Have not detected these when using Task Manager.  Have checked Apps for updates, all current.

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Envy Laptop PC display screen is flickering with black screen.

I have a few recommendations 

• Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
• Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date. 
• Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.

Try and check in Bios using the F10 key if the screen is flickering in Bios. To enter Bios, click restart and keep tapping the F10 key and then turn on the PC at the same time to enter Bios screen. 

If the issue persists in Bios then it is a hardware issue on the screen.
