I just received my laptop in the mail today and noticed that the colors are very washed out compared to other devices such as my previous laptop and my phone. I already went into the settings to recalibrate the color balance and that barely helped.

@Sabrina82 Please check the related post to ensure the calibration of the screen was done all the way: click here to view the post

Also,

Here's what you need to do, to identify the issue and resolve it accordingly:

  • If not done already, check if it works fine on the BIOS screen to identify if it's either a hardware or a software issue:
    • If it works fine on the BIOS (Accessed while tapping F10 during a restart) it's a software issue & I suggest attaching an alternate monitor to your device and creating a new user account to check if that works better, for starters)
    • However, if it doesn't work within the BIOS either, I'm afraid it's a hardware malfunction.

While you respond to that, I have a few more steps that should help:

Perform a power reset (no data loss) using these steps: Click here, proceed to next step if this works

Attempt to run a test from the HP hardware diagnostic tool, using this link: Click here for details.

If the issue appears on the diagnostics, it could again, determine a hardware failure,

If they don't appear on bios & the hardware tests passed: please update the BIOS & Chip-set drivers from the HP website using this link: Click here

if the issue persists, reinstall windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue,
use this link for details on performing the recovery: Click here

I recalibrated my screen as you linked the post to and it still didn't work. When I tried to follow the rest of the steps that you've listed, they don't work and all say Error 400: Bad Request. My HP Support Assistant app also doesn't work. So I'm not sure what to do now.

@Sabrina82 Which link for you the 400 bad request error? as they seem to be working fine on my end, please share the link you have an issue with, also, did you connect an alternate monitor to your device and check if that works? keep me posted.

All of the links expect the one that links to a previous thread/post do not work. I also do not have an alternate monitor to connect to my device.

@Sabrina82 If you don't have an alternate monitor, please check if the display colors are washed out even in BIOS as suggested, also, the links seems to be working just fine on my end, could you perhaps, check with an alternate web browser?

Keep me posted.
