Hi @Asdf820,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I’m really sorry to hear that your new HP laptop’s display is flickering. I know how disappointing that can be, especially on a brand-new device. Don’t worry, we’ll help you get this sorted as quickly as possible.

Before we move toward a replacement request, please try the quick checks below so we can confirm whether it’s a display issue or a simple setting/driver fault:

Restart & check in BIOS

  • Please restart the laptop and tap F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  • If the screen flickers even inside the BIOS, it points to a hardware/display issue.
  • If it does NOT flicker in BIOS, it is likely a driver or software issue.

Update the Display Driver

  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Expand Display Adapters
  3. Right-click your graphics driver → Update driver
  4. Restart the laptop

Run HP Support Assistant

  • Open HP Support Assistant
  • Go to Updates → install all graphics/firmware/BIOS updates
  • Restart the system

Check the Refresh Rate

  • Go to Settings → System → Display → Advanced Display
  • Ensure the refresh rate is set to the recommended value (usually 60Hz / 144Hz, depending on the model)

Try an External Monitor (if possible)

  • Connect your laptop to a TV or external display
    • If flickering appears on both → graphics/driver issue
    • If only on the laptop screen → panel/hardware fault

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi,

As per the suggestions provided in your email, I have updated all drivers and the BIOS. However, I am still experiencing the same display flickering issue.

I am not in agreement with replacing individual parts or proceeding with a service request, as this is a brand-new laptop. I kindly request your team to replace the laptop at the earliest, as this issue is also impacting my work.

I request you to please do the needful urgently.

Regards,
Franklin Moses
